first, you held the tips
of my fingers in your palm
and we stretched the moment
like a rubber band
with clenched
teeth
i have a single string
of invisible control
on everything and this time
it didn't snap
but then it all unwound
like a spring
and it all happened so fast,
so suddenly
and the sky starting falling, chunks
of painted cement, new drapery
of trees
i will promise not to think
of mahogany wood;
i can't be aware of my heartbeat at
the same time.

in the wake of light, your words bring me more(please, do leave your fingerprints behind, so I may relish the image of our hands after you go.)
